Apart from purchasing incoming call number from skype, there are other options
1. using siptosis to bridge your asterisk with skype
2. use ring2skype http://www.ring2skype.com/
It allows you to have a real number to connect your skype. But it comes with an extension that it is 2 stage dialing.

For US call in number, the better alternative would be google voice.
