Just updated to this latest release, Obihai web site does say what new features or bug fix this new firmware contain, it only says

     In this release update:
         [ ...Coming Soon... ]

However, it definitely fixed one of the problem I have encounter:
I setup SP1=SIP and SP2=GV, then I setup VG3, VG4, VG6, VG7 and VG8 to point to 5 different SIP ITSPs via SP1, 4 of the 5 VG works fine, however, the last one - onesuite.com does not (I have verified that onesuite.com works fine if I configure it as SP1 with or without registration), it just refuse to work if it is configured on a VG, one thing a little strange about onesuite.com is the username format, the username for user "sam" is in the form of "sam-voip.onesuite.com" with proxy "voip.onesuite.com", so the fully qualified name would be "sam-voip.onesuite.com@voip.onesuite.com", this cause some SIP software/broker to be confused.

However, without changing any config, once the new 2283 firmware is loaded, the onesuite.com VG works like a charm, that is good enough for me I am happy now

obi-support2 just posted a message regarding one of the 2283 build enhancement, it is about "addition of options to support NAT traversal for SIP Gateway and URL calls
on SP1/2", however, I don't quite understand what he is talking about, a large section (include the example section) has been strikethrough.

take a look at Reply #38 here: http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=526.30

[EDIT] re-read the post, I think I got it now - mostly, this are enhancement people has been asking for: per VG/speed-dial settings that overrides SPx settings, however, it seems the "ui" option overlaps the "AuthUserID/AuthPassword" options for VG, looks like a very kludgy way of adding these features

I have been using ***6 to check for update and perform the actual firmware update, this procedures is simple and works for me for the past 2 updates.

Are you getting dial tone at all?

I religiously use the backup and restore feature when I play with settings, it works well, except that the backup file does not contain SP1/SP2 passwords, so once you restore, you have to enter the passwords again.

Now that Obi allow user to enter passwords in the Address part of the VGx and Speed dial, I would think those would be stored in the backup file.
