CentOS 5.7 released

The major update from CentOS 5.6 to CentOS 5.7 has been released. The system boot time is apparently faster.

yum -y update 就可以了，無需大費周章。

不過，暫時不要太快upgrade 去 5.7，可能有bugs 也說不定，我因為有Backup，可以隨時restore 回舊版本，所以試一試。

如果你用multiple boot，想方便，可以先Boot 起Windows 用 Ghosts 或 Acronis True Image 做Backup。
Restore 也一樣。當然，你也可以在其它Linux 版本下做Backup+restore，但前者會較方便快捷。

有。

我會先tar 落本機的 HDD，再copy 落手指個度，萬一HDD出事，就可以用手指restore。

剛剛跟你談論期間，我已用Ghost 回復了 CentOS 5.6 了。 5.7 有Bugs啊，sip show peers and sip show registry，全部無野睇。

你看，真的很快RESTORE 的。幾分鐘攪掂。

Thanks for the advice. I have kept removing some very old kernels whenever I update the new one. It is a good practice to free our hdd space.

Mine will be same as yours. I will only retain the latest 2.6.18-274 and 238 in my machine and that will be enough.

New kernel-2.6.39-4.el5 is not compatible with Dahdi 2.4.1. I must roll back to use kernel-2.6.38-4.el5.

終於裝到及完成Dahdi 2.5.0.1 最新版及升級 Kernel 2.6.39-4.el5，兩者最終可以融合使用了
