The network connection diagram of the following settings is:
The following procedures illustrate the steps needed for establish the connection between a CAP device and CAPsMAN device.
CAP device
1. Reset Configure with checking out CAPS Mode box and “Do Not Backup” box. The last one is not mandatory.
CAPsMAN Manager device
1. On <Wirless> tab, disable local wlan1 and/or wlan2 (you may enable them if necessary)
2. On <CAPsMan>-><Manager> tab, check out the enable box and start the CAPsMAN service.
3. Go to the bridge mode, add cap1 and/or cap2 the network bridge such that it gives DHCP and network service to the CAP device
4. Double click the cap device under CAPsMAN->CAP Interface
4.1 Wireless->Mode: ap
4.2 Wireless->SSID: “Enter a name for SSID of the CAP”
4.3 Security->Authentication Type: WAP2 PSK
4.4 Security->Encryption: aes com
4.5 Security->Passphrase: “password for SSID”
Remarks,
The frequency(channel number) was automatically set by the CAP device when we reset the MikroTik WiFi device at CAPS mode. For simplicity, we stopped here. More information will be shown later by including examples of adjusting wireless parameters.
The current performance of using hAP ac2 as a CAP are shown as follows:
1. 2G WiFi performance: an average of 50Mbps.
2. 5G WiFi performance: stable at around 100Mbps. |
